What does the RFBA do for its members?

· Ensures that the trust fund, which was started many years ago, continues to grow under the guidance of Clover Capital Management, which is based in Pittsford, New York. This fund is self-supporting and does not receive any membership dues. The money in the trust fund is used for the purpose of paying a death benefit to the beneficiaries of our deceased members.

· Administers the loan fund and the membership dues paid by both active and retired members. Membership dues pay the officers’ salaries, support routine office expenses, and cover monthly meetings, retiree functions, and other social events by and for the membership.

· Coordinates and ensures the continuation of social events like the Retirees’ Dinner Dance, the Christmas party at the School of the Holy Childhood, and the annual Fire Department Awards Dinner.

· Conducts monthly board and membership meetings, maintains members’ personal records, surveys members for input on issues affecting the association, and implements recommendations to better serve the membership.

· Provides representation at funeral services, ensures payment of the death benefit according to the association’s constitution, and coordinates the firefighter plots at Mount Hope and Holy Sepulchre Cemeteries.

· Coordinates the collection of funds for the annual Flow of Happiness, which helps to pay for the School of the Holy Childhood Christmas Party and annual monetary gifts to the young children of our deceased members.
